Invisible text generator blank characters that still count
Copy and paste blank text and invisible characters: apps reject empty messages and blank names, but not characters that simply draw nothing. Copy one below, or type text to get an invisible copy of the same length.

Copy a blank character
Each tile copies one invisible character. The box shows its name, because the character itself draws nothing.
Ready-made blank text
Longer runs for messages that must not look empty to the app.

Copy and paste blank space
When you need to copy and paste blank space into a form, message, or profile that strips normal spaces, click any character in the grid above. These are not standard ASCII spacebars (U+0020), which input validation filters routinely trim. Instead, they are legitimate Unicode letters, patterns, and symbols that render completely invisible.
| Character | Code | Takes up | Good first try for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hangul filler | U+3164 | About one letter | Blank names and profile fields |
| Braille pattern blank | U+2800 | One letter | Empty messages and comments, blank lines |
| Halfwidth Hangul filler | U+FFA0 | Half a letter | A narrower blank where U+3164 is too wide |
| Zero-width space | U+200B | Nothing | Splitting a word or link so the app doesn’t act on it |
| Em space | U+2003 | A wide gap | Spacing that won’t collapse in a bio |
| No-break space | U+00A0 | One space | Keeping two words on one line |
Why the letter-like ones work better: many apps remove spaces from the start and end of a field and reject a field that’s only spaces. The Hangul filler is classified as a letter, and the Braille blank as a symbol, so neither is a “space” to those automated validation checks.
Common uses
- Empty messages. Send a Braille blank as a reply that says nothing at all.
- Blank or hidden names. Paste a Hangul filler as your whole name where the app allows it.
- Line breaks where the app strips them. A line with a single Braille blank on it isn’t empty, so some bios and captions keep the gap.
- Stopping auto-links. A zero-width space inside a URL or @mention stops many apps turning it into a link.
Test before you rely on it
Platforms change their rules without notice, and the same app can behave differently on iOS, Android and the web. Paste into a draft or a private chat first. If a character disappears or the app says the field is empty, switch to the next one in the table.
The other direction
Got text with something invisible in it that’s breaking a search, a formula or a password? The invisible character remover finds every hidden character, shows its code and gives you a clean copy.
Questions people ask
What is the best invisible character to copy?
Start with the Hangul filler, U+3164. It is a real letter in Unicode, so many apps treat it as text and don’t strip it, yet most fonts draw it as an empty space. If an app removes it, try the Braille blank, U+2800, which is a full-width empty cell.
How do I send a blank message?
Copy a Braille blank or a run of them from the grid above and send it. Many chat apps block messages that contain only spaces, but a Braille blank is not a space, so the message goes through and shows as empty.
Can I have a blank name on Discord, WhatsApp or in games?
Sometimes. Apps and games keep changing their rules: some trim these characters, some block names made only of them, and some ask for at least one visible letter. Try the Hangul filler first, then the Braille blank. If both are rejected, add one ordinary character such as a full stop.
What does the text box do?
It makes an invisible copy of whatever you type, one blank character per letter. The result takes up the same room as your text but shows nothing, which is useful for spacing or a hidden-message joke. The last row shows the Braille copy with each blank labelled, so you can see it is there.
Is invisible text a problem for screen readers?
It can be. Some screen readers announce Braille blanks or Hangul fillers by name, and a name made of them is unreadable for people using one. Keep invisible characters out of anything others need to read or search for.
