Strikethrough in Notion three ways

Three ways to strike through
Shortcut. Select the text and press Ctrl + Shift + S on Windows or ⌘ + Shift + S on a Mac.
Markdown as you type. Type a tilde, your text, and another tilde: ~like this~. Notion converts it the moment you type the closing tilde.
Selection menu. Select text and a small formatting menu appears above it. Click the S̶ button. On the Notion mobile app, select the text and look for the same button in the toolbar above the keyboard.
All three are toggles. Do the same thing again to remove the line.
To-do lists strike themselves
Notion’s To-do list block (type [] and a space, or /todo) strikes its text when you tick the checkbox. That’s the cleanest way to track tasks: you don’t apply the formatting by hand, and unticking removes it.
In a database, a Checkbox property doesn’t strike the page title, but you can filter or group by it to hide finished items instead.
Using it well in shared docs
Decision logs. Strike options that were ruled out instead of deleting them, so new readers see what was considered.
Meeting notes. Strike agenda items as they’re covered.
Changed plans. “Launch May 4 May 11” in a project page keeps the history visible.
Notion to elsewhere
When you copy struck text out of Notion into a place that supports Markdown, it usually comes out as ~~text~~. Pasting into a plain-text field, like a social bio, loses the formatting entirely. For those, the copy-paste version on this page carries the line in the characters themselves.
Exporting
Notion’s Markdown export writes strikethrough as ~~text~~, so it carries over into GitHub, Obsidian and most other Markdown tools.

Does Notion support ~~double tildes~~?
Notion converts text wrapped in single tildes, ~like this~, as you type. When you paste Markdown with double tildes into Notion, it is usually converted on import as well.
Why are my to-do items crossed out?
That is how Notion shows a checked to-do block. Untick the checkbox to remove the line. If you want items to stay unstruck, use a bulleted list instead.
